Information is only as good as its source. The quality of the information that you are using, your paper argument strength. The quality is largely determined by the source of the information. When you write a paper, please let your readers know that the information you are presenting from external sources are trustworthy and reliable. Allow readers to easily navigate through the source information, documenting the sources that you have used on a separate page linked to your paper. If necessary, your American Psychological Association (APA) style reference list gives a reader to trace your information back to the original source.

Print Book
1. Type the author’s last name and first initial, separated by a comma. Place a period after the author’s first initial.
2. If there is more than one author, separate authors ‘ names with a comma. Place a sign before the final author’s last name.
3. Please include the date of publication in parentheses, and follow it with a period.
4. Enter the title of the book in italics, but only the first letter of the first word of the title. Place a period after the title.
5. Include the book’s Edition number, in brackets, if it has one. Place a period after the version number. When a book has an Edition number, please do not place a period between the and the book’s title.
6. Enter the place of publication and name of Publisher. Separate with a semicolon.
7. Place a period after the name of the Publisher.
Magazine
8. Enter the author’s last name and first initial, separated by a comma. Place a period after the author’s first initial.
9. Please include release date in parentheses, followed by a period. Insert the date, year, month and day. Separate year and month with a comma. Separate the month and day with a space.
10. Type in journal title, capitalize the first letter of the first word. Place a period after the title.
11. Enter title of magazine in italics, and use the default rules title capitalization. Place a comma after the magazine title.
12. Enter the magazine’s volume and number without a space. Please include the issue number in parentheses and follow along for a period of time.
13. Enter the beginning and ending page numbers of the article, separated by a hyphen and followed by a period.
Web page
14. Type the author’s last name and first initial, separated by a comma. Place a period after the author’s first initial.
15. Please include release date in parentheses, followed by a period. Insert the release date, which in most cases will be one year. If the website offers additional information, you can include it.
16. Enter the title of the Web page in italics, but only the first letter of the first word of the title. Place a period after the Web page title.
17. Type the words “retrieved from” and then paste the URL of the Web page.
