First of all, a big thank you to MicroEdu and Melanie for the very good support. It was a great help for me, especially when applying to the university and the American Embassy in Frankfurt. It has always been a big dream of mine to study in the land of unlimited opportunities. I knew from the very beginning that this was going to overwhelm me. Campus Life
The campus was very nice. One could see huge libraries on campus, and a baseball stadium, etc. Add to this the impressive number of students studying at the university. For $10 you can join the gym and use all the equipment, classes, and pools. You get a card from the campus from the dormitory.
I chose the Business Administration course (A – course 6 weeks, Marketing). Marketing was really great, you learned a lot and the professor was just great. You could understand the professor very well during the lectures. But you also had to learn a lot and do group work. In my class, 90% were American, but there were also many other ethnic groups in my class, such as students from India, Japan, Korea, Israel, Denmark, Turkey, etc.
Accommodation
I was in the Residence Hall Unit 2. There are a lot of Indians and Mexicans in the dormitory, but there were also a lot of other nationalities (Americans, Spanish, Italians, Germans, Asians, … ) etc.
The food was great, you pay for the meal points in the Residence Hall and then you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Crossroads (canteen). I myself had shared a triple room with two students from Hong Kong. The rooms were very clean and the dorm was very well equipped. If you still had questions, you could contact the International Office in the I-House. In the student residence you had to use the toilets and showers on the 7th floor together with the students. (Collegetratizion) Men and women in the same room. There were also a great many college parties at Resindece Hall, I – House, and DELTA and GREEK House. But also lots of apartments and house parties as clubs in America close at 2am.
The city of Berkeley (California)
Berkeley is a great college town. With bars, cinemas, nightclubs and restaurants. Berkeley residents make you feel like you’re not a stranger and are quick to embrace you. Berkeley residents are 45% Chinese, 20% Native American (Native American), 15% African American (Black), 10% Mexican, and 10% White and other ethnicities. The weather was very pleasant in Berkeley.
I can definitely recommend the University of Berkeley to anyone for a summer session. I myself have met many friendly and tolerant people. And now I have friends all over the world because of it. Attention: You have to be 21 years old to enter a bar or discotheque. And you have to be 21 years old to drink alcohol. Come to Berkeley and experience the real American college life. I myself have definitely fallen in love with California^^
