Other Christian denominations present in Hungary include Calvinism, Lutheranism, Adventism, Pentecostalism, Methodism, and Mormonism. Judaism has a long history in Hungary with records showing the presence of Jews in Hungary as early as the 11th century. Today around 0.2% of Hungarians identify as Jewish with most living in Budapest or other major cities such as Szeged or Debrecen. Judaism is an important part of Hungarian culture and there are many synagogues throughout the country which serve as places for worship for Jews as well as centers for education about Jewish culture and traditions. Islam is also present in Hungary although it makes up only around 0.3% of the population due to its relatively recent introduction to the country by immigrants from Turkey or other countries in the region. Most Muslims living in Hungary are Sunni while a small minority practice Shia Islam and there are several mosques throughout the country which serve as places for worship and community gathering for Muslims living in Hungary. Islamic holidays such as Eid al-Fitr and Ramadan are celebrated throughout Hungary by both Muslims and non-Muslims alike due to their cultural importance to many Hungarians regardless of their religious affiliation. Finally, there are various other religions present in Hungary including Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism etc., although these make up only a small percentage of the population (less than 1%). These religions have been brought over by immigrants from other countries or have been adopted by Hungarians due to their curiosity about other cultures or beliefs systems. Overall, in 2011 Hungary was an economically prosperous country with a well-developed infrastructure that supported both local businesses as well as multinational companies operating within its borders.
