The climate of Auckland

According to citypopulationreview, Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city and is located on the North Island. The city has a pleasant maritime climate with subtropical features. The summers are pleasantly warm with temperatures around 23-24 degrees during the day, in the winter months it is still around 14 to 16 degrees during the day and the chance of frost is very small and snow only occurs once a century. Because the city is very vast and there are quite a few hills in the city, there are regularly fairly large differences in the weather within the city itself. A few degrees difference in temperature and a large difference in the weather at the same time are more the rule than the exception.

With an average of 1299 millimeters of precipitation on an annual basis, Auckland is a lot wetter than the Netherlands, by New Zealand standards it is a normal amount. With no less than 2100-2200 hours of sunshine on an annual basis, Auckland is also quite sunny. The sun shows itself well all year round, just like the rain showers. Because Auckland is southerly enough, hurricanes have almost no chance of reaching this part of Oceania.
