São João Guarantees 686 Points to Brazilians in the Ranking

The only Brazilian stage of the Junior Series, competition still made Brazil to gain strength in the junior rankings of the UCI. Event waxed economy of the city, moving around R $ 2 million. Check out the video-release with 19 minutes of pictures.

The Levorin International Mountain Bike Cup once again helped the Brazilians in the UCI (International Cycling Union) rankings. Held between Friday (15) and Sunday (17), the São João del-Rei stage of the biggest Mountain Bike competition in Latin America distributed 686 UCI points among Brazilians who competed in the junior and super elite. The score was critical to the claims of elite cyclists over the 2016 Olympics.

Together, the Brazilians who competed in the super elite had 191 points: 23 in the Eliminator (XCE) and 168 in the Cross Country (XCO). The result increased Brazil’s 1935 Olympic Men’s ranking, which could make the country win three positions and move from 12th to ninth, a position that guarantees two representatives of the country in the Olympics. The final sum after three days of competition helped four Brazilians in particular: miners Rubinho Donizete (AOO Specialized, 40 points) and Gulherme Müller (LM / Shimano, 30 points), Rio de Janeiro Henrique Avancini (Cannondale, 25 points) and Paulista Luiz Henrique Cocuzzi (Home / Scott / Shimano, 24 points). The result should keep Avancini in the top 10 worldwide and can put Rubinho among the 50 best in the world.

The Brazilians got 121 points: 20 on Eliminator (XCE) and 101 on Cross Country (XCO).The result increased Brazil’s score to 2163 in the Olympic ranking, which should keep the country in tenth place in the Olympic ranking, as it guarantees a representative in the Olympics. The final sum after three days of competition helped the three best Brazilians in the world rankings: Goia Raiza Goulão (AOO Specialized, 40 points) and Isabella Lacerda (LM / Shimano, 36 points) and Erika Gramiscelli (Funvic Soul, 26 points). The result can make Raiza win two positions and move up to 27th place, raise Isabella from 34th to 32nd and put Erika in a position above her current 40th place.

The CIMTB Levorin de São João was also important to insert the Brazilians of the junior in the UCI ranking, since the competition was worth as stage of the Junior Series, kind of world of the category. In the women’s game, the Brazilians dominated and secured 232 points. The highlights were: Jaqueline Borba from São Paulo (Lar / Scott / Shimano), whose title and 60 points won can guarantee it in the top 10 in the world, and Larissa Brasa (Specialized Hoffmann XCO), third place The 25 best in the world ranking thanks to the 30 points added. In the men’s race, Brazilians won 142 points, with the highlight being Érick Bruske from Santa Catarina, with the fourth place on the podium, the AOO Specialized cyclist had 25 points, a result that could put him in the top 15 in the world.

UCI Commander Exalts Organization-UCI Commissar Jason Howard of Canada first worked on the St John’s stage of CIMTB Levorin. The assembled structure and the organization of the competition surprised Jason positively, for whom the event was a success.

“It was my first time in São João del-Rei, but the organization of the event was at the same level as the opening of Araxá in 2014. The organization run by Rogério (Bernardes) is very professional, and I feel very proud of Be part of it, “Jason pointed out.

In Jason’s opinion, the 2016 Olympics in Brazil give even greater importance to CIMTB Levorin, one of the main scoring sources for cyclists who want to compete in Rio de Janeiro. “Some of the best cyclists and coaches in the world are Brazilian, and that is why the UCI promotes competitions here. It will be great to see athletes from the most diverse nationalities competing in Rio 2016.”

The commissioner also highlighted the inclusion of St. John of the King as stage of the UCI Junior Series. “It’s very exciting to have the junior world championship here in Brazil, to see youngsters with the opportunity to compete at a high level, and it’s an important step in the development of future cyclists.”

CIMTB Levorin heats São João economy-The second leg of the Levorin International Mountain Bike Cup was not restricted to the sport aspect. The event, held for the third consecutive year in São João del-Rei, guaranteed economic and social benefits for the city of Minas Gerais.

According to calculations by the organizers and the city hall, the occupation rate of the 1,600 beds available in the city reached almost 100%, not counting the significant occupation in the other cities of the region. In addition to lodging, food and commerce in general, the total economic impact was around 2 million reais.

“As the numerous accolades from Brazilians and mainly foreigners to the organization of the event were not enough, the Levorin International Cup of Mountain Bike was once again an economic success for the host city.In behalf of all the people involved in the World Cup, I would like to thank all the citizens of São João del Rei, the city hall and city secretaries who once again embraced the event and welcomed all visitors to the best possible way, “said Rogério Bernardes, organizer of the main Mountain Bike competition From Latin America.

The third and final stage of the season will be in Congonhas (MG), from November 6 to 8.The International Mountain Bike Cup celebrates the 20th Edition in 2015. The event is sponsored by Levorin, the official tire of the competition, and co-sponsored by LM Bike, Shimano, Specialized and Audax.
