Paulo Saçaki Disembarks in Brazil

With the bag full of new stories, the Paraná rider returns to the country with many plans, and makes a positive balance on this tour in Europe.

BMX rider Paulo Saçaki landed in São Paulo this morning after nearly two months of training and racing in Europe. Saçaki was in Tallin, Estonia for the Simple Session contest; In Milan, in Italy for training and for the 45th Nord BMX & Sk8 Contest; And last but not least in Montpellier, France, for the FISE dispute. “It was a sensational day,” said Saçaki, still looking tired from the long journey, but satisfied with the results.

In the last week, the trip to France surprised positively.”I arrived on Wednesday late afternoon with other riders, and a Van was waiting for us to make our transfer to the hotel. It was a tiring day, I was awake from four o’clock in the morning, and the arrival at the hotel was around fifteen o’clock, but I did not think much about the fatigue, I tried to set up the bike and I went to know the track, the track was already full of Pilots and public too, “recalls Saçaki. The structure of event and track impressed the paranaense. “The event is huge, tracks everywhere, tents with products, food and entertainment, I tried to sign my application and went to track to do a reconnaissance training.”

Bombing event, perfect track, and everything is going well. “It was without a doubt the best championship I’ve ever been in, the track is perfect, and a lot of people walking, that ends up obliging everyone to follow the same line, so as not to risk collision, and nobody spares anything, There is no way to keep “that” maneuver, everyone driving strong and the rhythm hallucinating.

Friday, day of qualifying. Pilots were divided into two groups, and Saçaki joined the first group.”Walking right in the face is good and it is not at the same time, on the one hand, that anxiety about getting on the track and showing before all the lines is over, and walking afterwards has the advantage of looking more at what they are doing. At last I came to believe that the business is to concentrate on what I have prepared, and good, and ended up working. At the time of qualifying I tried to do what I’ve been working on, relax, breathe and enjoy. Let’s say that 90% worked, I was able to walk on every track, to do the whole line in the two laps, without falling, but I did not get all the maneuvers I wanted, surely I felt the difference of the clues where we are accustomed to walking, and Reinforces the theory that we need to be out there longer, riding with higher level pilots, that ends up pulling us up, that’s what I want.”

The rain ended up causing the Group 2 postponement, which went on Saturday. Results on Saturday were announced only to 19th place, added to the first 5 of the previous edition that are already guaranteed for the semifinal. Saçaki was placed 34th.”We were aware that it would be difficult, and our goal was to be among the top 50, so the result surprised me very positively, I received a great affection from the organization, from the other competitors, and especially from the crowd. I opened the flag of Brazil and the spectators were crazy, we are very dear there, that is gratifying too. I think my chance to be in the top nine was real, the result was very tight, the notes were all very close, so it was not enough for me to go any further in the competition.”

In the end, Saçaki regretted not having competed in the mini ramp, since in Brazil happened two good events with a similar track. “I thought of not going in two ways to save myself, but next year I’m going to face it, we’ll schedule for me to be at least one day in the city, to rest well, have a good night’s sleep, and face the two modalities”.

On Sunday, it was the semifinal and final of the competition.”Everyone who was there had the level to take the first prize, funny as looking from the outside we have a different vision of the whole, they seek regularity, it is no use for the pilot to send that hyper maneuver mega risky, without having a logical sequence of the thing, but I saw insane things. The top three, Daniel Sandoval, Kevin Peraza and Logan Martin certainly made a final that will mark. It’s a shame that Daniel Dhers took a strong leap in the semifinal and could not have walked, he was the guy to beat because he is the current champion of the circuit,”recalls Saçaki.

Back home, now the week is rest.”We have commitments with the press and with sponsors between now and tomorrow, I will try to rest, I am feeling that my body asks for a time, but the will was to arrive, to mount the bike and to train, more and more. The following week is crucial so that some of the actions we have planned can be put into practice, especially with regard to the structure for training, and I will meet with my manager and my sponsors to be able to make a place more appropriate and closer to them Have in Europe and the USA, we need something even better than the Kadoshi in Apucarana.”

“I want to thank everyone, lots of messages of affection and support, everyone who was there cheering and encouraging me in some way, my family, my friends, my sponsors, my manager, the whole media galaxy like Click BMX, Base BMX, BMX 20, newspapers, magazines and others, you are very important for us who dream of taking the colors of Brazil out, showing our work. My sponsors Belumi Bike & Components, John Roger, ABS Sports, OZ Company, Open Bike Shop, Londrina Esporte Clube, these companies are influencing an entire generation, and without you none of this would be possible. Thank you very much! And just one last sentence to all who dream of living in the sport, “if you want, you can, make it happen!”
