Everything is ready for the 9th edition of the International Cycling Tour of Paraná, between May 27 and 31. The competition, valid for the 2.2 class of the International Cycling Union, will be receiving 23 teams representing six countries. In 2013, the paranaense cyclist Alexandre Manarelli was left with the victory.
In the current edition, the competition will be covering 749.4 kilometers, passing through nine cities of the state of Paraná. The inaugural stage will be composed by 128.4 km with start in Bela Vista of the Paradise and arrival in the First of May. The closure will take place in a circuit located in the city of Londrina with a 100km course.
To participate, the best teams in the national ranking were invited, as well as five other foreign teams. Among the highlights are the current Paraná team champion, Dataro/Bottecchia, and also the leader of the national ranking, Memorial/Santos, of São Paulo. Among the foreigners are already confirmed the presence of Uruguay, Paraguay and Ecuador. The national teams of Venezuela and Argentina are in the confirmation process.
Competition general director Marco Barbosa says all the details have been well worked out and the competition will once again be poised to be a highlight in the UCI America Tour calendar.”We are ready to make another very successful edition. We’ve worked hard over the last few weeks and thought of every detail. The stages are very challenging with courses that will provide disputes until the end of the competition. It will be an excellent opportunity to confirm the event as one of the main events of the America Tour calendar,”said Barbosa.
